Highlights:
Hans Ulrich Obrist
Place: Centre d'Art Santa Mònica - Rambla Santa Mònica, 7
Date & Time: Saturday 10 of May, time: 19 hrs

Hans Ulrich Obrist investigates the modus operandi of new forms of cinematic storytelling, which could be described as condensed and concentrated, that have recently developed through moving image genres like advertising films, music videos and movie trailers, and tries to pinpoint where and how an intersection between these trends and contemporary art can emerge. This research is linked to what Doug Aitken calls a "quiet revolution in perception", and to the pioneering efforts of German filmmaker Alexander Kluge. Obrist raises questions about possible new behavioural practices for audiences of works that involve viewers in the production of meaning and effectively make them co-producers of the films. Hans Ulrich Obrist (Zurich, Switzerland, 1968) is one of the world’s leading curators and art critics. He is the founder of the Robert Walser Musuem, instigator of the Migrateurs program at the Musée d'Art Moderne at Ville de Paris, and co-curator of Manifesta 1. He is currently the Director of International Projects at the Serpentine Gallery, London.
